Event Description

On 2nd December 2024, Augustine’sPublic School held its first inaugural Inter-House Chess Competition fromclasses 1 to 10. There were four  housesparticipating in this competition which were Red House, Green House, Blue Houseand Yellow House. From each house, there were four participants representingtheir respective houses. Chess is a game where we need to analyse, concentrateon the boards and the pieces and most importantly ,to have a strong will. Therewere stages of competition like the Round Of 16, then Quarter-Finals consistingof 8 players, followed by the semi-finals comprising of 4 players and lastlyThe Finals. The atmosphere was really calm and quiet, and the sounds of thepieces moving on the board could be heard .Everyone was focusing deeply ontheir respective games. Altogether, the students really appreciated and enjoyed the initiative of thiscompetition. A huge amount of thanks to our Vice Principal Sir for taking theinitiative of this Chess Competition and special thanks to Aparajita ChatterjeeMiss and Himadri Roy Sir for conducting the same.

Winner - Diptendu Pandit - ClassV - Blue House

Runners Up - Ariyan Mondal -Class V - Green House

Senior section :

Winner - Abhronil Ghosh -  Class 8

VIII - Red House

Runners up - Lord Robertson Kundu- Class IX - Yellow House
